Before you attempt doing any of the mods that you read about you should look at the parts diagram.  Examples below are for the Classic and others are in the library. Questions and answers can then be addressed by part numbers.  Photos may help, but are not a substitute for the parts diagram and seeing the parts in their setting or context.;sa=page;p=11
If the mods are electrical, then look at the wiring diagram.;sa=page;p=42
